Investment Style and Strategy
- I exercise a lot more discretion in reading news these days, because I realised no one knows anything and no one can predict the future. The best one can do is to make calculated bets and informed guesses.
- I love Matt Levine’s Money Stuff column though.
- I believe in fundamental analysis, which starts from reading prospectuses and annual reports. There are simply no short cuts.
- From time to time, I deploy tools like Graham Stock Screener and Discounted Cash Flow model to help in my thought process.
- I do monitor portfolio total returns and IRR, but since my primary focus is income, my target is a running 5%-6% dividend yield on my portfolio.
- I’m still thinking about how to achieve true diversification to create reliable passive income streams.
